Candidate Eligibility

Miss Fayette County is open to young women who live, work, or attend school in Georgia.

To meet the criteria for Miss Fayette County, candidates must be:

Miss Eligibility

Age & Education

- Candidate (1) must be at least nineteen (19) years of age as of December 31st in the calendar year of the State Competition in which she competes;

- (2) Must not be older than twenty-six (26) years of age as of December 31st of the year of the State Competition in which she competes.

- For the avoidance of doubt, a candidate cannot turn twenty-seven (27) years of age at any time during the calendar year in which she will compete at state.

Residency

Must fulfill one of the following:

- Must reside in the state of Georgia

- Be enrolled in and physically attending classes on a full-time basis at an accredited college or university;

- Or be employed on a full-time basis in the state of Georgia.

Citizenship

Must be a citizen of the United States of America

Additional Miss Program Requirements

Candidates must meet all additional requirements pursuant to the Miss America State and Local Application & Agreement

Miss America Program Registration and Scholarship Fundraising Requirement

Per Miss America, there are two steps:

Each Miss candidate must register for the 2023 Miss America Program Competition Season and pay a one-time per year $35 fee. This registration and $35 fee is good for the entire 2023 local competition year. This registration gives you access to MAO’s exclusive Professional Development series and MANY other opportunities. (If you have already competed at a local preliminary this season, you have completed this step).
Each candidate will sign up for Miss Fayette County/Coweta County and complete a separate $75 scholarship fundraising commitment. (If you have already competed in a local this season PRIOR to Miss Fayette County/Coweta County, you only have to go back into your account and sign up for Miss Fayette County/Coweta County and complete the $75 scholarship fundraising on the official fundraising page).
This must be completed or the candidate will not be allowed to compete.

Outstanding Teen Eligibility

Age & Education

- Must be at least thirteen (13) years of age on the first day of the State Competition in which she competes;

- Must not be older than eighteen (18) years of age as of December 31st in the calendar year of the State Competition in which she could compete.

- To further clarify, Candidate cannot turn nineteen (19) years of age at any time during the calendar year in which she could compete at the State MAOTeen Competition.

Residency

Must fulfill one of the following:

- Must reside in the state of Georgia

- Be successfully enrolled in and physically attending classes on a full-time basis at an accredited public or private school, or home schooled within the state of Georgia.

Citizenship

Must be a citizen of the United States of America

Additional Teen Program Requirements

- Must not be eligible to compete in the Miss America Competition (see Miss Program Eligibility requirements above).

- Candidates must meet all additional requirements pursuant to the Miss America's Outstanding Teen State and Local Application & Agreement

Miss America Program Registration and Scholarship Fundraising Requirement

Each Outstanding Teen candidate must register for the 2022 Miss America Program Competition Season and pay a one-time per year $35 fee. This registration and $35 fee is good for the entire competition year. This registration gives you access to MAO’s exclusive Professional Development series and many other opportunities. (If you have already competed at a local Outstanding Teen preliminary this 2023 season, you have already completed this step).
The candidate will sign up for Miss Fayette County/Coweta County's Outstanding Teen. Teens do NOT pay any additional fundraising fees to Miss America at the local level. Instead, Teen candidates will enter the code "TEENLOCAL" (If you have already competed this season PRIOR to Miss Fayette County/Coweta County's Outstanding Teen, you only have to go back into your account and sign up for “Miss Fayette County/Coweta County's Outstanding Teen” and enter the code "TEENLOCAL" on the official fundraising page).
Teen candidates DO pay a $150 entry fee to the Miss Fayette County Scholarship Organization. This can be paid by check or PayPal.

This must be completed or the candidate will not be allowed to compete.
